Why Small Groups?

By Ellie Boyd - Guest Writer

For many of us, connecting with strangers can be intimidating. Whether it’s a new job, class, or club–interacting with people you’ve never met before can be daunting! But what if there’s a common interest? Maybe you’re all from the same hometown, enjoy jazz music, or are working towards the same goal. Alright, that’s a little better.

You might have heard of our small groups, gatherings of individuals who all have one thing in common–they want to be better people. Recently, our small groups have been going over the latest series, “Habits.” We are working together to build each other up to reach our goals and implement what we are learning.

You might be thinking “I have nothing in common with ‘religious’ people. That sounds like an awkward situation.” Don’t worry, our small groups aren’t filled with perfect people. Many will honestly admit that they don’t have it “all together.” You don’t have to wear a mask with us! Our small groups help people connect in authentic ways.

Orchard small groups are a space to not only meet and make friends but to also receive care and real fellowship. We want to help each other discover true ways to grow and become healthier people. We don’t want you to feel alone in the process. Let us walk with you as you strive to form lasting change in your life by following Jesus.
