# Disagreeing Politically While Loving Unconditionally

In our recent message series "[**ONE - Faith|Politics|Unity**](https://www.orchard.church/sermons?sapurl=Lytta2RmL2xiL21zLys5NG1ydDhuP2JyYW5kaW5nPXRydWUmZW1iZWQ9dHJ1ZQ==)", we looked at how **we can DISAGREE politically, BUT LOVE unconditionally.**

A key to being able to do that is to **seek to understand**.

Keep in mind, seeking to understand *doesn't mean you are going to agree on an issue*, it's simply a matter of trying to understand why someone's view on an issue differs from yours.

The societal current today seems to be "Agreement = Love, Disagreement = Hate". In Christ, it's supposed to be different.

Political agreement is NOT the determining factor on whether we are to love. In fact, Jesus gave us the commandment to "love one another, as I have loved you."

#### **Jesus loves us all, even though we all hold some views I'm sure He disagrees with. **

Seeking to understand involves asking questions, about finding out where someone "sits". It's about building relationships. It's about valuing PEOPLE OVER POLITICS.
