Divided in Politics, United in Love

By Doug Dameron

My parents never agreed on politics, but they always managed to love each other.

I love my parents for a lot of reasons. In this season, there's one aspect of their relationship that I am especially thankful for: They voted very differently, but they shared the same heart of love toward each other.

They showed me how to seek to understand, agree to disagree, and love one another anyway. I am very thankful for that in these politically polarizing times. They had something that is increasingly rare these days - the ability the disagree politically but love each other unconditionally.

That is something WE should relearn as a society and as the church.

Here's a clip from our series "ONE. Faith | Politics | Unity" at Orchard Church
