New Habits, New You

By Ellie Boyd - Guest Writer

How can you not only form good habits but become a better person for yourself and your family?

Creating new habits like working out daily or spending more quality time with family seems promising as the ball drops in NYC and blasts of fireworks fill the sky on New Year's Eve. But after a while, most people realize habit-making is no walk in the park. It might even seem impossible. By February, many of those goals may have filtered themselves out as “too hard” or “not worth it.”

We understand the true struggle of wanting to change. Without the right mindset, it can prove an extreme battle. However, some changes are absolutely worth fighting for…and we want to help.

In our message series, “Habits,” we have been addressing ways to successfully make and maintain wise habits as well as break bad patterns. Too often, the focus is on the goal itself and not on how to actually achieve the goal. We want to be a part of your success this year by giving you the right tools to make the changes you desire.

However, it’s more than just making to-do lists and setting reminders on your phone. We want to dig deeper. How can you not only form good habits but become a better person for yourself and your family? We believe it starts with principles that God has taught us in Scripture. “Habits” combines practical tools to help with habit-forming/ breaking but also speaks to the source of all change–the heart. We believe lasting change starts there.

Whether you’ve been a believer most of your life or are just starting to explore faith, “Habits” is designed to help you change and grow right where you are (literally, you can watch it online!). We invite you to feel the support and motivation of Orchard Church as you strive to achieve your goals. Check out one of our “Habits” videos for a kick start to a new you!
